LAN, Ford Foundation announce landmark partnership to help entrepreneurs grow
The Lankan Angel Network (LAN) today announced that it has signed a landmark grant agreement with the Ford Foundation to catalyze the growth of Sri Lanka’s startup ecosystem. The grant of USD 300,000 is the first of its kind for the Ford Foundation in Sri Lanka and will be utilized to reach entrepreneurs across multiple sectors island wide.
‘HatchX’ Sri Lanka’s first fintech accelerator launched virtually
Despite the volatile condition in the country and the world due to the pandemic, Sri Lanka's first fintech accelerator program launched virtually on April 23rd 2020. This is also the first virtual accelerator to be launched in the South Asian region overall during COVID-19.
Sri Lanka’s Rs. 100 m Angel Fund accepts applications from startups
The Angel Fund, an initiative of the Lankan Angel Network (LAN), established with the support of ecosystem development partner Ford Foundation, has begun accepting applications from early-stage startups in Sri Lanka with regional and global growth potential that is not limited to the tech industry. These could encompass innovative ideas in the verticals of BFSI, agriculture, education, healthcare and supply chain and logistics, to name just a few of the Fund’s areas of interest.
